You can use up to two per weekend. Once you’ve unlocked a Happy Hour you can either schedule to use it on that upcoming weekend or bank it for later. Results from your Power Down sessions will take about three working days to update. If you manage to use less electricity than you’d normally use at that time in two Power Down sessions, you’ll earn one Weekend Happy Hour. When there’s a Power Down session, we’ll let you know by email and on your online Saving Session dashboard. We don’t want you to miss out on Weekend Happy Hours though, so we’ve decided to level the not on gamstop playing field.

We will be monitoring the introduction of the booking scheme very closely alongside our enforcement team. We would recommend booking early for these occasions. We have analysed current site usage and added enough slots to meet demand. If you are unclear if your vehicle needs an e-permit, check the criteria on our Apply for a waste e-permit page. An e-permit is still required to make a booking for commercial type vehicles and trailers. A vehicle requiring an E-permit can make 6 free trips per 12 months for household waste and/or DIY waste.
